Derwent Estuary Tours

The view is always better from the water, in my humble opinion. We’ll spend the day in my handmade McKenzie River Drift Boat, targeting trout in pristine locations. You’ll learn how to spot fish, manage your line, and fly selection for various fly fishing techniques. Drift boat tours are available on selected northern Tasmanian rivers–maximum of two anglers.

We’re spoilt for choice in Tassie! The central highlands feature over 3,000 lakes, lagoons and tarns that hold wild brown trout. You’ll learn how to stalk fish, the importance of fly presentation and understand various rod lengths and their uses. A day in the highlands is good for the soul! Drift boat or walk and wade tours are available.

The river fly fishing options in the Derwent Valley and southern Tasmanian wilderness are fantastic. You’ll learn how to read the water, fly selections and why a drag-free drift is essential, all while taking in the beauty of a Tassie wilderness stream. Walk and wade tours only.

There is an additional sitting room with a vast selection of books and games. The laundry with a washing machine and dryer and the updated bathroom and separate toilet are also on the lower level. Upstairs is the kids zone! Twin single beds in the third attic bedroom, and there is an additional lounge/playroom for the smaller members of your family. There is also an outdoor courtyard with BBQ and off-street parking for up to two vehicles. We supply top quality professional laundered linen, as well as basic bathroom and kitchen amenities.
