The Winter Lover
Tasmania Wine Tour 11.30 am, Departing Launceston and head out to the aptly named Launceston distillery for a nip of whiskey to start things off. Here we will hear from head distiller Chris Condon and his trusty companion Angus the dog (who may warm up your lap if you promise to provide him with head pats). From there we will head to the historic and quaint town of Evandale. Once in Evandale, you will be invited to wander the town to take in late-Georgian and early-Victorian buildings, with comparatively untouched views of the streets, providing a unique window into Australia's past. We will settle in for an included lunch at the historic Clarendon Arms before heading back into town via Joseph Chromy Winery. The Josef Chromy Wines cellar door is located in the estate's original 1880s homestead, surrounded by an expanse of established, landscaped gardens. On arrival, the open log fire welcomes you and the views of the surrounding vineyards and lakes provide an idyllic location to relax and enjoy a variety of estate-grown wines. After our wine tasting, we will depart back to Launceston arriving at around 5.30 pm.
