Nestled between Currie and Grassy in the heart of King Island’s fertile pastures, this family-owned and operated brewery crafts traditional and experimental brews for local tastes. A 20 min guided tour of the brewery explores the family's brewing process, the science and art of fermentation, and finishes with three tastings of your choice. Opened in mid-2021, King Island Brewhouse has a ‘core range’ of traditional style beers, a refreshing ginger ale, and a fresh-hopped beer made from locally grown and foraged hops (seasonally available). The brewery has an adjoining taproom providing tastings and a small select menu of snack food to accompany. Perched on top of the hills overlooking prime farming land, this relaxed family-friendly venue is accessible to all visitors. The Brewhouse is often the location for events and parties but is just as welcoming for small groups and couples. It’s a perfect place to stop and have a break on your tour around the island, especially on those windswept days.
