The Lazy Prospector
Zeehan
An ideal central base for two to explore Tasmania’s rugged west coast, and the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking, biking or sightseeing. Full of craftsmanship, The Lazy Prospector is a celebration of yesteryear, with all the modern conveniences. Beautifully restored 130-year-old barn wood features add a rustic charm that calm and soothe.
To ensure your stay is comfortable, enjoy a plush queen-size bed; a sofa large enough for two adults to stretch out in front of the wood fire heater; a deep soak bath; and hand built swing bed on the back verandah with views across to Mount Dundas. You may even be serenaded by local kookaburras, or see wallabies feeding near the cabin at dusk and dawn.
Our minimal kitchen has a bar fridge, an induction plug-in cooktop, a convection microwave oven, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and a basic pantry.
While the west coast itself is remote, The Lazy Prospector sits on the outskirts of Zeehan and enjoys the company of neighbours. In town, you’ll find an IGA, two pubs and the esteemed West Coast Heritage Centre.
If you have the inner callings for adventure, but love your creature comforts, The Lazy Prospector is for you. And after a day of exploring, and a couple of nights of deep sleep, you'll feel refreshed and ready to take on the world.
