At Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation we offer an à la carte breakfast menu and in-house signature dining options and now 5 Course Burmese French Fusion Long Table Lunches matched with local wines and ciders every second month. Trish is passionate about food and draws from a wealth of experience in the food and beverage industry, so you can be assured the menu will be diverse, tasty and delicious! Ethically produced local farm produce will be at the heart of the Hamlet Downs food journey, standing by the ethos of good, clean and fair. Hamlet Downs Country Hideaway is a hidden gem located in the foothills of the Central Highlands located in Fentonbury, Tasmania - A Country Home Away From Home! Comfortably sleeping up to six pax with three bedrooms consisting of a King Bed, Queen Bed and Twin Singles. An original Hyrdo House from Waddamana, the site of the first power station, relocated to Fentonbury, the country style rustic but well provided kitchen has all the amenities you need to self cater - This truly is a home away from home in an idyllic, secluded, fully private, country location. A full size fridge, bathtub and even a washing machine makes this a convenient place for an extended stay with the family. Set on 17 acres and with access through to the 36 acre adjoining property of Hamlet Downs Country Accom which also features 3 accommodation spaces, you can roam and feel free to potter around the farm. Spy Platypus in one of the many dams, say g'day to the farm friends of sheep, alpacas, ducks, chooks, resident grey old farm dog Sunny, and even our big piggies up the hill. Just a 12 minute drive to Russell Falls and Mt Field National Park. 20 minutes drive to internationally renowned Red Bull Maydena Bike Park, 30 minutes to historic New Norfolk and only 1 hour to Hobart.

Glamping - luxury camping, in one of Australia's first truffle orchards, on a spectacular amphitheatre on the property on the banks of the pristine Derwent River. Guests stay in 8 spacious (75 sq metre), safari tents, fully equipped with king beds, lounges, heating and cooling, electric blankets, refrigerators, and tea, and coffee machines, The attached ensuite bathrooms, uniquely contained in in large water tanks, feature hand-made wooden baths, a separate rain shower, and a radiant heater. Each spacious tent has a large deck with rocking chairs, a hammock, and outdoor furniture, overlooking the river. Every tent has a spectacular river and valley view. Wooden walkways link the tents to the lodge buildings. The dining and lounge lodges overlook the river, and their glass walls and open decks offer wonderful views. Both have lush furnishings, rich timber, original artworks, and wood fires. The property is rich in wildlife - platypus and trout in the river, and echidna, wombat, wallabies, devils, and possums on land, and the riverine vegetation abounds in birdlife. Activities include fly fishing, kayaking and biking, wildlife spotting, and walks in the truffle orchard. The property is designed and built to incorporate eco-friendly principles and is a designated Land for Wildlife property. Truffle Lodge is just 45 minutes scenic riverside drive from Hobart, and an hour from the airport.
