Home to creatures including the Tasmanian devil, wombat, echidna, quoll, wedge tailed eagle, tawny frogmouth and many more. Overlooking Moulting Lagoon Conservation Area and neighbouring the remarkable and pristine Friendly Beaches, it is a sanctuary in the heart of one of Australia's iconic landscapes. Conveniently located on the Great Eastern Drive, between Coles Bay and Bicheno at Friendly Beaches, it is a short drive to Friendly Beaches, Wineglass Bay bushwalk, Cape Tourville Lighthouse, the East Coast vineyards and many more activities within the region. Architecturally designed by Hobart firm 'Dock 4' and complimented by works from Tasmanian artists. Aplite house is a completely solar powered luxury eco self catering accommodation experience.

The Pondering Frog Ice Creamery and RV Stop is located ten minutes south of Bicheno and 400 metres from the Coles Bay turnoff. Our RV Camp is for fully self contained vehicles, pet friendly, has potable water, rubbish bins and gas refills available. Donation only. Flat sites, easy access and a children's playground with a large frog slide. Access to the cafe toilets during trading hours. The cafe offers all-day breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and dinner by appointment. Famous for our hand crafted ice creams, seafood chowder, garlic prawns and much more. Something for everyone including a kids menu. There are friendly goats and an alpaca in the paddocks surrounding us. Our visitor information section is well stocked with maps and brochures and time permitting we develop a personal itinerary for you. We are located on the gateway to the Freycinet National Park, only 30 minutes to the Wineglass Bay Walk, Cape Lighthouse. Centrally located our RV stop is 30 minutes from Swansea passing all our famous East Coast wineries.
