Mount Roland is one of northern Tasmania's most prominent peaks and is a journey of pretty epic proportions.

For all the leg work, the 1234m summit is quite a prize, delivering 360-degree views of Bass Strait, Cradle Mountain and Barn Bluff.

The most accessible walking route to the summit starts at Gowrie Park, on O'Neill's Road off the C136. It’s a 4-6hr return walk, mostly with a moderate incline.

Mount Roland is under an hour’s drive from Devonport, and will likely deliver a hawk’s eye view of the next stop along your journey.
