Bruny Island Neck

The Neck Campground is a campground within the Bruny Island Neck Game Reserve, managed by the Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania. This is a sheltered area behind sand dunes at the south of the isthmus, and provides easy access to the beach. ​ The Neck Campground is suitable for tents, caravans and campervans. The campground has pit toilets. No bookings are required. Camping fees do not apply. Total site number and capacity are estimates only. Always check local signage and the PWS website for campfire restrictions before lighting a campfire. Bring your own water and firewood, collection of firewood is not permitted within Reserve Land. This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp, below is the information provided by the Host regarding their offering. Cute and cozy sunny converted barn in a central location, located near the neck beach on Bruny Island. Enjoy ocean views from the lounge sofa or whilst lying in bed upstairs in the loft. Situated on 8 beautiful acres with pasture and bush, next door to the main home, but you'll still enjoy privacy and peace, only with the occasional horse and dog that may visit from time to time! Simple facilities, including a heater, microwave, fridge, sink with cold water, kettle, toaster, induction cooktop, and small TV. The double bed is upstairs in the loft, but please note, the stairs to the loft are quite steep. Bedding and towels provided. There is an outdoor gas shower, or you are welcome to use the shower in the main house if we are home. There is a camping toilet or bush toilet, or you may use the house toilet if we are home. A very peaceful location with lots of birdlife and walks nearby. It's a picturesque 10-minute coastal walk along to the beach and just five minutes to the sea cave.

The perfect base to explore Bruny Island, should you be able to drag yourself away. The shack is the second option, a little more basic but still offers a delightful stay more experiential stay with a access to the vegetable gardens and chicken coupes etc. Also home to the enigmatic bruny baker who stocks the iconic bread fridge...when you stay with us you will have hot wood fired sourdough delivered to you every morning..
