Waldheim Alpine Spa - Cradle Mountain Lodge

Camp and fish just a stone's throw from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minute's drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area. Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites. There is a lovely walking track around the dam's periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife. A keen fisher? Throw a line in at our other dam and catch your dinner! Nothing beats fresh fish, that you caught yourself, cooked on a campfire.

Cradle Alpine Retreat is designed with you in mind. The retreat is an oasis of romance, rest and a retreat away from all the busyness of life. Cradle Alpine Retreat blends comfort with a touch of wilderness to ensure a peaceful and relaxed stay. Cottages There are four self-contained cottages. All Cradle Alpine Retreat cottages have a well equipped kitchen, electric blankets, one cottage with a log fire and three cottages with spa baths, as well as the beautiful views of Mount Roland and Mount Claude. Restaurants For those that want to purely relax and not cook there are restaurants within driving distance. These restaurants include Lemonthyme Lodge, Peppers Cradle Mountain, The Black Stump at Gowrie Park, Bascilico Italian Sheffield, T's Chinese Sheffield and Sheffield Pub. Breakfast Baskets Breakfast baskets are available for $15 per person per night. These consist of cereals, bread, spreads, juice, bacon, eggs and tomato. Baskets will be left in the cottage for you to prepare at your leisure.

Set high up in the mountains of cradle country at an elevation of 530 metres, this beautiful 85-acre farm is peaceful and picturesque. The majestic presence of Mt Roland, Mt Van Dyke, Mt Claude and Black Bluff can be seen from various parts of the property with a stunning valley view sitting pretty at the rear of the plateau paddocks. Nestled in the heart of North West Tasmania with camping close to Cradle Mountain, the site is only a 35-minute picturesque drive from the National Park, 15 minutes from Sheffield the town of Murals and 5 minutes from Lake Barrington, perfect for swimming, rowing, water skiing, power boating and canoeing. It is also only 5 minutes from Tasmazia, with its model villages and endless mazes, with many walks and natural Tasmanian attractions close by. Campfires are permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood is also available. There are no amenities on site, so a camping toilet and water are required. Please note, that there are no dogs allowed on the property as this is a working farm.
