Ye Olde Buckland Inn Campground
Enjoy the free camp offered by Ye Olde Buckland Inn at the start or finish of your East Coast Tasmanian journey in the historic town of Buckland. Anyone is welcome to camp here, just come and see the publican before you set up. Enjoy the old-fashioned pub style meals at old-fashioned prices and a beer while you stay. Any donations received from camping there are given to the local community including the local fire brigade and RAW. The campground is located at the rear of the Inn and is adjacent to the recreation ground which has clean toilets, a small playground, a picnic area and the dog exercise area is close by. The campground is also dog friendly. Sites are grassed, level and can be driven through depending on how busy the campground is. The location is peaceful, surrounded by lush fields and hills. Ye Olde Buckland Inn was built in the early 1800s and is listed as one of the five oldest pubs in Tasmania. Whilst staying explore the Church of St John the Baptiste with the 14th-century stained glass window. The Tasmanian Bushland Gardens close by is a beautiful regional botanic garden of 22 hectares. It comprises plants endemic to the area with walking tracks and formal gardens to showcase the plants.
