The Kiln

A 1900s oast house and and heritage home sit next to each other other in the green landscape.
A heritage oast house is visible through some foliage. The building has a brown and grey patina.
A table is shown sitting under the eaves of an old building. A person delivers food to the table.
Looking from the ground, you can see the distinctive wooden pattern of the oast house roof.
A hand sits a plate of carrot cake on the table next to some coffees and a Portuguese tart.
Two tables and chairs sit between a 12 pane window. The raw wood walls hold vintage light fittings.
The Kiln offers a unique and special dining experience. Housed in a converted barn dating back to 1862, with the addition of the Oast house tower built in 1911, this restaurant provides a charming and historic ambiance. Located in Ranelagh, in Tasmania's stunning Huon Valley, and just a 3-minute drive from the main street in Huonville, it caters to families and offers a range of dining options. Whether you're seeking a leisurely and delightful lunch with your favourite company or a quick and delicious takeaway coffee, The Kiln has something for everyone. As enchanting in winter as it is in warmer months, the shared plates eating experience caters for most palettes, food preferences and dietary requirements. A layered eating experience that hits all the senses, the ever-changing menu and unique eating spaces mean no visit will be the same. An exciting melting pot of cultural influences spill into the menu including mediterranean, french provincial, Nepalese, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Caribbean and the Americas. Bookings recommended.
