Meredith House and Mews at Swansea on Tasmania's East Coast offers heritage bed and breakfast accommodation in a convict-built 1853 home with modern touches such as free Wi-Fi. The six ensuite rooms in the convict-built Georgian-style National Trust-classified house are decorated in warm, period colours and furnished with antique and hand-crafted red cedar furniture. There are views over the historic seaside village of Swansea, and Great Oyster Bay to the Freycinet Peninsula. A wide veranda provides cool shade and the house is surrounded by gardens, with barbecue facilities and a guest laundry.
