The Tasman Sea Salt ‘Salt Sommelier’ is an intimate and immersive agritourism experience, taking guests on a deep dive into the world of sea salt. Guests start with a tour of the Tasman Sea Salt saltworks, located on the ocean's edge, where they witness the pristine water the sea salt comes from. They walk through Tasman Sea Salt's sustainable harvesting process, learning how they harness naturally occurring energy to harvest their pure sea salt flakes. Guests are then welcomed into the beautiful cellar door of Mayfield Estate (located on the same property), where they will find out about the importance of sea salt, both for the body and as a seasoning, and how it impacts flavour and the way we taste food. All through a salt tasting experience of small bites, pairing the Tasman Sea Salt range of salts with locally sourced produce including Cape Grim beef, locally caught fish, local cheeses, fruits and vegetables. The experience runs three times a week - bookings are essential.
