Bridge Cottage
Bridge Cottage comprises two self-contained, heritage listed co-joined cottages. The Armoury Cottage and The Sergeants Cottage. Stay in your own private cottage - located in the centre of Richmond village and overlooking the Historic Richmond Bridge. Comfy and cosy and yours to enjoy. Relax by the wood heater after a day exploring Richmond village whilst enjoying complimentary port and chocolates. Bridge Cottage was built by convicts in 1823 the same year as the construction of the Historic Richmond Bridge to accommodate the Sergeant in charge of the construction of the Richmond Bridge and the Village’s arms store. Both cottages have been fully restored. Richmond is a historic village, located 20 minutes (27 kilometres/17 miles) northeast of Hobart and 15 minutes to Hobart Airport. Cottages Features include: Sitting room with cosy wood heater, Queen bedroom, country-style kitchen, dining area and second living area, laundry and bathroom. Explore our friendly village with its fine collection of Georgian architecture including the Richmond Bridge (1823), Richmond Gaol (1825), Village Store (1836), St John’s Church (1836) and the Court House (1825) Richmond is an ideal base to tour The Coal River Valley, and explore the local cafes, wineries, craft and antique shops and the nearby surrounds of Hobart and beyond.
