Solstice Cruise

Artists from all over Tasmania have been invited to respond to the theme of 'Light House'. The exhibition will be opened on the Strahan Solstice weekend and will be open to public until the 31st of July. This formal opening will be an exclusive, ticketed only event. Tickets will be limited. Attendees will be greeted at the door and offered a glass of Tasmania wine or beer, along with nibbles of local produce.

Delight in an evening of culinary indulgence as Strahan Village presents a five-course wine dinner at View 42˚ Restaurant and Bar. Enjoy a carefully curated menu that showcases produce from local growers and producers, paired perfectly with the finest of Tasmanian wines. Featuring a free light show event "Port to Post" a stunning projected visual and auditory display on iconic buildings in the Strahan Post Office. Blending the raw beauty of the West Coast with the warmth of its people, the festival offers a bright and welcoming escape during the darkest days of winter. Long Table dinners, live music, twilight markets, winter solstice swims and more... The Strahan Solstice, celebrates the magic of Tasmania's West Coast, inviting all to illuminate their winter and ignite their inner light this year.

Strahan Village is situated in the heart of Strahan and offers a variety of accommodation types. If you would like to cruise into the World Heritage Area, Spirit of the Wild, the purpose-built Gordon River Cruises vessel crosses Macquarie Harbour to Hell's Gates and then enters the Gordon River with perfect reflections of riverside rainforest. The Church Cottage, located in Strahan is a unique experience designed and setup as a weekend retreat for couples. It has a King-size French Provincial bed (Louis XV), a spa and a fire place. The lounge area has a leather chesterfield (Queen Anne) suite which includes two very comfortable wrap around gentlemen’s chairs and a three-seat sofa to lie on and relax in front of the fire place.

The Police Superintendent’s Cottage, located in Strahan is a cosy two-bedroom Victorian Cottage with a spa, open fireplace and a large flat screen TV, there is also a full laundry. The main bedroom has a Queen size colonial bed suite and the second bedroom has three single beds. This cottage is ideal for a small family or two couples.
