Derwent Regency Festival 2024 will be held on Friday 29th November - Monday 2nd December. Hobart and New Norfolk, Van Diemen’s Land Main festival events include Friday: Georgian and Regency Evening at Narryna Heritage Museum and on Saturday: The Grand Regency Ball. Period music by Van Diemen’s Angels (harp, piano, fiddle and flute) Dancing Master David Wanless will lead you through the dances. No partner or dancing experience required, though attending the morning workshop would make it even more fun. Dress in something period or formal if you can. St James Hall, 462 Elizabeth St, New Town (off Rupert Avenue, enter behind church) Sunday: Regency Garden Party: A day of Regency activities, fine food and tea at the historic Glen Derwent Heritage Retreat. Period attire admired but not required. Monday: An afternoon sail on the Derwent river on the Lady Nelson. Also on Monday evening. Monday night folk dance, historically themed Contra Dances. Live music and lots of fun. St James Hall. All ages and identities welcome. Tickets and info please visit the link provided. Early bird and weekend tickets are available.
