Designed for couples and solo travelers seeking to relax, indulge and unwind, you will find everything you need at your fingertips including a fully-stocked larder of fresh Tasmanian and mainland goodies such as sourdough bread, crackers, cereals, quality hot and cold condiments, milk, juice and local wines and port, all included in your stay. Your personal fire pot and star gazing pad are ready for you to enjoy, preferably with a bottle of local Tasmanian wine from your larder of course! Welcome to Rosy Summers, our newly restored and unique miner’s shack in Lettes Bay. Set back from the water and tucked cosily amongst other shacks, Rosy is a surprising interpretation of a traditional miner’s shack. From its pink-painted exterior you enter into an expansive sanctuary. Spend your days admiring the glimpses of the bay, sitting by the fire, making a delicious meal or lazing on the large linen sofa. It truly is a sensual space of calm, peace and serenity.

Captains Rest is our special spot for two. Our bed looks out the antique windows to the old jetty and the still water — has a deep bath with unlimited hot water. She's cosy with everything we need to luxuriate, and the nectar wood stove keeps us cosy. As featured in publications around the world, including Country Style, Real Living, Home Beautiful, Good Weekend Magazine, Living ETC UK, Design Sponge, Conde Nast Traveller and Milk Decoration. Captains Rest is all yours, and the space around it is shared by all our fellow shack owners. Sometimes the area around our shack is quiet, sometimes it's a hive of fishing, photography, boat building and community. Other things that are important to note, Captains Rest is not suitable for children or pets due to the delicate nature of its furnishings, and the hazards of the water out front. We also only have a step in the bath — so this property might not suit those who prefer to shower or have mobility issues.
