A partnership between the Huon Pine Shop and Gallery and Creative Papers Tasmania, has created a world exclusive product, Huon Pine Paper The process takes the sawdust and shavings waste from producing high quality wooden items, adds Huon pine leaves pruned from riverside trees in western Tasmania, then combines it with cotton rag made from old towels by a disability employment program, and uses the alchemy of centuries-old paper making techniques to create Huon Pine Paper. Ten local artists were invited to participate in the exhibition and were each given a suite of Huon Pine Paper in various sizes and textures to make art from the paper, and they have responded with flair, imagination and creativity. The exhibition of their work, called 'From the Floor to the Wall' runs from 9th February to 8th March 2025
