Stack of coloured papers made at Creative Paper Tasmania, Wynyard, Tasmania
Located in Wynyard on the North West Coast of Tasmania, only 40 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania in Devonport and 5 Minutes from the Burnie/Wynyard airport, Creative Paper Tasmania was established in the early 1990's as a unemployment support program in Burnie, where papermaker Darren Simpson learned to make paper as a teenager. Since then Darren has mastered his artistry to produce high quality papers. They have a wide range of paper from fine art paper to the more unique and unusual papers made from Roo Poo, Wombat Poo, Forest Floor, Bull dung and many others. Creative Paper Tasmania is Australia's largest handmade paper mill, and they pride themselves on producing papers that are made from cotton textile waste, industrial hemp fibre and incorporating a range of plant fibres. They are community focused and work alongside other local businesses and artists to provide a more eco friendly product.
