Rocky Hills Retreat is a contemporary intimate retreat for two people, set high on a hill South of Swansea overlooking the beautiful Great Oyster Bay and Maria Island. The retreat, designed by award-winning Australian architect Craig Rosevear, is surrounded by 250 acres of Tasmanian bush. It comprises a single open space featuring a luxurious king size bed, a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, laundry facilities and living area with wood fire and gas heating. A custom built Huon pine bath sits outside on the deck. Delightful breakfast provisions are provided and a fully-stocked mini bar means you don't have to leave the property. There are gourmet meals available from Wurthaus Kitchen. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own provisions or eat at some of the well-known local restaurants like the amazing Waterloo Inn. Rocky Hills Retreat is a 90 minute drive north of Hobart and around the same time south-east of Launceston. Nearby is Freycinet National Park, fantastic local vineyards, oyster farms to visit or the best strawberries, jams and ice-cream at Kate's Berry Farm.

Hamptons on the Bay is located in Rocky Hills and is a one-and-three-quarter-hour drive from both Hobart and Launceston. With a luxury three-bedroom house and seven beautifully appointed cabins, the property is intimate and private. All accommodation is on the water's edge, perched high above Great Oyster Bay with majestic views across to Freycinet Peninsula. Our cabins all have queen beds and separate bathrooms, lounge/dining/kitchenette. The three-bedroom house has king beds, each with an ensuite and over 250sqm of living space. The East Coast is renowned for its wineries and convict history and has some of the oldest farms in Tasmania going back several generations. The climate is mild and rainfall remarkably low which all adds up to many beautiful sunny days and mild temperatures. Swansea is a ten-minute drive away and has several great restaurants and cafes and supermarkets for provisions. Migratory whales, dolphins, and sea eagles as well as wallabies, possums, wombats, and echidnas can often be seen as Hamptons sits in a scenic nature corridor that is sparsely populated. The cabins are a great base to explore Tasmania's East Coast with attractions such a Wineglass Bay and Maria Island are all within comfortable driving distances.
