Literally sitting in the middle of a paddock in the verdant Pyengana Valley, the pub offers hearty country meals or morning and afternoon teas along with comfortable pub accommodation. There is also a room with a double bed and two bunks, accommodating up to four guests. Pub in the Paddock is also RV-friendly, allowing guests to park the night in the paddock. You can taste award-winning, traditionally-made cheddar cheeses at the nearby Pyengana Dairy Company, or visit some of the area's waterfalls including the cascading St Columba Falls-plunging nearly 90 metres from the Mount Victoria foothills to the South George River valley. Pyengana is an Aboriginal word meaning the meeting of two rivers. Pyengana is a half-hour drive from the north-east coastal town of St Helens (27 km) and a one-hour drive from Scottsdale (73 km).

The Whimsy is an early 1900s miners cottage located at Weldborough in North East Tasmania at the foot of the mystical Blue Tier. The area is known for its magical ancient fairytale rainforests, once a home for the Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine). But you will find there is much more to discover about Weldborough which has a rich history including Mount Paris Dam now hidden away in the forest and a must to see. Weld river sapphires are also a drawcard for fossickers. Weldborough is a central location for riding the Blue Derby, Blue Tier and Bay of Fires Mountain Bike trails. MTB shuttles run from the Historic Weldborough Hotel which is only a 5 minute walk from the Whimsy. A number of trails can also be accessed directly from The Whimsy and a secure bike store is provided at the property.

Access is via a gravel track that descends to the river. There is a toilet available nearby. Please note that when visiting electrical fencing is in use and live so please take caution. Wood for the fire is available to purchase on site along with a mixture of goods such as fresh eggs, fresh cow's milk and sourdough bread loaves.
