The Koonya Garlic Festival is Australia's longest-running garlic festival, and it has become one of Tasmania's most widely anticipated annual harvest festival events, attracting a sizeable crowd of passionate gardeners, garlic growers and foodies from Tassie and Interstate. The festival is held in the picturesque valley of Koonya on the beautiful Tasman Peninsula just over an hour southeast of Hobart. At the heart of the festival is the Koonya Garlic Festival Garlic Grower's Competition open to both amateur and professional growers of all ages. Some of the most popular elements of the festival are the free cooking masterclasses, expert talks and Gardening Q&A featuring some of Tasmania's top chefs, cooks and gardening experts. Festival of Small Halls is thrilled to announce that Susan O’Neill (IRE) and Monique Clare (AUS) will feature on the upcoming Summer Tour 2025: Woodford Folk Festival to Cygnet Folk Festival. Kicking off at Woodford Folk Festival for 6 days of warm summer music, the tour will travel to the southern end of the country for a 3-week run of shows on the Apple Isle. Produced by Woodfordia Inc, this community driven regional music tour will be their 43rd tour. Visiting 10 regional towns from the East Coast beaches in Swansea to the wild north-west in Stanley, Susan O’Neil and Monique Clare will showcase their exceptional vocal and songwriting talents to mesmerised audiences across the state, as well as at Cygnet Folk Festival. Festival of Small Halls Summer Tour 2025 starts at Woodford Folk Festival from 27 December – 1 January, before heading to ten communities across Tasmania as well as the Cygnet Folk Festival from 11 – 12 January. The final show of this tour, at Sandford Hall on 19th January 2025, marks the 700th Festival of Small Halls show since the tours began in 2013.

The establishment is an artisan distillery with a cellar door producing spirits from an in-house still. It provides tastings for visitors and the product is sold on-site. Conveniently located on the Tasman Peninsula not far from Port Arthur.
