Wagner's Cottages Estate, located on Tasmania's historic East Coast, is set in the rural coastal surrounds of Swansea. The estate has four self-contained stone cottages, which includes, the original c1860 estate home. Relaxation, romance and absolute privacy are Wagner's Cottages signature experience. The estate is set on two acres of lawns and gardens which includes over 150 roses. There are pathways, benches and outdoor settings that provide a number of relaxing and private areas for our guests to explore, unwind and enjoy the tranquillity of the estate after a busy day of travel. The estate combines old world charm with the luxury of modern amenities including, reverse cycle air conditioning . Most of our cottages have fully self-contained kitchen and laundry facilities. Three of the cottages have open log fires and relaxing spas with luxurious linen on queen size beds. All the cottages are stocked with a good range of continental breakfast provisions. These include a freshly baked loaf of sourdough and fresh eggs from our girls in the chookery. Local attractions include the Freycinet National Park, stunning beaches, heritage tours, award-winning wineries, fine dining, oyster and berry farms. Swansea is located halfway between Hobart (134 kilometres) and Launceston (132 kilometres) and is just a 40-minute drive (60 kilometres) to Coles Bay. Contact them directly for your best options.

Elegant and spacious describes their heritage listed circa 1860 cottage which has a romantic attic bedroom and queen size bed fitted with Wagner's signature linen. Perfect for couples seeking a little indulgence. There is a generous bathroom which has a luxurious double spa complete with its own television, there is also a separate shower and vanity. Wagner's cottage has a generous lounge room with original circa 1860 features, such as the wooden slat ceiling and open log fireplace. Your lounge room is furnished in period leather furniture and has an adjoining reading den and library. Continental breakfast provisions are provided in the thoughtfully equipped full-size kitchen, allowing you to dine in or enjoy breakfast in your own private courtyard garden. There are laundry facilities for some of the more tedious duties that may need attention during your stay. Please be aware that the attic bedroom although romantic and snug, may not be perfectly suited to someone who is taller than average. Another of their beautiful cottages may be more suitable. Their beautiful open plan cottage, the Studio, has been built up from the ruins of the original circa 1860 Wagners Estate stables. Your cottage has a comfortable queen size double bed under vaulted timber ceilings, which are built on locally felled Oyster Bay Pine logs, the floor is of polished Tasmanian hardwood. The generous bathroom has a romantic double spa with a shower over as well as a separate vanity and includes cosy floor heating, for some of the cooler Tasmanian winter mornings. Continental breakfast provisions are provided and a kitchenette (limited cooking facilities) allows you to prepare a light meal or breakfast to enjoy on the patio in your own secluded walled garden.

Hollyhock Cottage

Hollyhock is the largest of their four cottages. It is booked as a single bedroom, but there is the option of another bedroom as well. Both bedrooms have a double queen size bed. Please call to discuss your requirements.   After a busy day of exploration, enjoy a glass of bubbles whilst soaking in a relaxing spa or maybe a little romantic evening in and enjoy the special ambience of your open log fireplace. Continental breakfast provisions are provided and the full-size kitchen has been thoughtfully equipped, so as to cater for all your holiday cooking needs, along with a full-size dining table for you and your guests.  There are expansive rural views with glimpses of Great Oyster Bay from your private verandah, where you can sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine, or maybe fire up the barbecue and reflect on your days travels along their beautiful Freycinet coastline. There are laundry facilities to allow for a change of clothes if you are desperate.

Their beautiful Primrose cottage has been built from locally sourced stone using the same design as our heritage listed circa 1860 Wagners cottage. Primrose, as with all their cottages, is surrounded by gardens and has beautiful rural views right out your back door or from your breakfast patio. On the cooler tranquil evenings, you can relax in front of your open log fire. Your private cottage garden offers a serenity that will beckon on the warmer summer evenings. After a busy day exploring the historic Freycinet National Park you may prefer to lay back and luxuriate in a romantic spa whilst enjoying a glass of bubbles. Continental breakfast provisions are provided and a well equipped full-size kitchen is ideal for longer stays along with a laundry for the more menial tasks that may need attention.
