Turnstone Beach House

Turnstone
Turnstone Beach House was specifically designed for this site by well known coastal architect and identity Paul Witzig and it provides a stylish hideaway on the wonderful West coast of King Island. It is named after the Ruddy Turnstone a small bird that nests here on King Island after migrating from Siberia Turnstone has sweeping views of the Southern Ocean from every room including from the three bedrooms . Large double glazed windows naturally frame the surrounding coastal landscape. It is a memorable experience to view the rolling surf, a sunset, or a big storm from the comfort of the living room. There is a large lounge and dining area and a modern very well equipped kitchen. For comfort or even just " atmosphere" there is a wood fire or if you prefer a dual system heater/air-conditioner The dining table seats up to twelve and local caterers can cook and serve a dinner party by request All this just 10 minutes drive to the Airport, 15 minutes to Currie . For golfers- Ocean Dunes Golf Course is 15 minute drive and Cape Wickham ( rated number one in Australia) 35 minutes Spectacular beaches lie to the south and north, less than 100 meters from the house, and you will be surprised to meet anyone except seabirds.
