The Stable at Twamley Farm

Twamley Farm in partnership with Gert & Ted offers a range of cooking class and lunch experiences throughout the calendar year. Learn to cook rustic Italian dishes, farmhouse French cuisine or local game to perfection. Gert from Gert & Ted will teach a range of dishes in a fun and relaxed environment. Cooking classes can be scheduled by appointment for a minimum of 6 guests. Classes start at $320 per person, all inclusive. After homemade cake, tea, coffee or a hot toddy of local gin or whisky on arrival, you will get busy helping to create a delectable three-course menu for lunch. When all the preparation is done, sit down to a delicious feast together. Each course will be matched with a glass of East Coast Tasmania wine. All recipes taught in the class will be provided in a take home gift pack so you can impress your friends and family with your cooking skills.

The Spring Bay Clay Target Club is located at Twamley Farm and offers our guests the opportunity to experience clay target shooting under the guidance of highly experienced champion shooters. After a full safety briefing over a 'cuppa' you will head out onto the range under the guidance of very experienced clay target shooters, with the opportunity to try your hand-eye coordination with 25 targets each. The clay target shooting experience is suitable for complete novices through to experienced shooters and sessions usually last between 1.5 - 2 hours. The Spring Bay Clay Target Club is a registered ACTA club. Should you book a session please remember to bring some photo ID for the registration paperwork.

Ye Olde Buckland Inn is located in the small village of Buckland at the gateway to the East Coast of Tasmania and a lovely 45 minute drive from Hobart. They serve good old fashioned pub meals for dinner at good old fashioned prices. Sit and relax beside the wood fire and experience the old world charm of the Inn dating back to the early 1800's and is one of the top five oldest pubs in Tasmania. There is also a pool room and a dining room and it has a great friendly atmostphere. They have a free camp behind the pub. Please see the publican before setting up and enjoy a hot meal and a beer. Any donations received for camping the owner puts back into the local community supporting the local fire brigade or RAW. Stay a few days and explore this lovely historic town starting with the Tasmanian Bushland Gardens and stroll amongst the displays of endemic and rare East Coast plants. Another historic favourite is the Church of St John the Baptiste with the supposedly 14th centure stained glass window. Make Buckland the start or finish of your Great Eastern Journey and you will not be disappointed.
