The Duck House is a self contained heritage bed and breakfast in Burnie, on Tasmania's North West Coast. The two bedroom Duck House can accommodate up to six guests. The house is furnished in heritage style, with antiques, memorabilia and brass and iron beds in the bedrooms. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room. The bathroom has a claw foot bath and walk-in shower. Provisions for a full breakfast, including eggs, bacon, cereals, yoghurts etc. are supplied. Guests are invited to pick their own herbs and citrus from the rear garden. The cottage is named for its original owners, Bill Duck and his wife Winifred. The late 19th-century timber cottage is a minutes walk from the centre of Burnie, the beach, local park, art gallery, museum and walking tracks. The Duck House shares a common garden with another boutique cottage, Amelia's, giving you the choice of two superb heritage properties. Find out more details on the operator's own website. Both houses have free WIFI. In Burnie you can sample local produce including gourmet cheeses, visit a nearby penguin colony to see Fairy Penguins return to their burrows, or go on a platypus tour.

The Duck House has won the hearts of all who have spent a night or two here amidst the luxurious surroundings and whimsical duck memorabilia. The cottage is self contained with full locally sourced breakfast provisions, furnished with beautiful antiques and much historical memorabilia. It is a two-minute walk to the centre of town, total comfort, real charm and excellent value.
