Wild Cave Tours
Not the usual tourist caves! Go off the beaten track with speleologists who share their passion and knowledge in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area of kooparoona niara/ Great Western Tiers. Magnificent natural settings, cave scenery, underground streams, glow worms. These beautiful and varied caves are not normally seen by the public. but are readily accessible from accommodations in the delightful village of Mole Creek or nearby Deloraine. Mild tour: one cave, 1/2 day; Wild tour: two caves, full day. Family-friendly tours access tourism, cave photography trips. Education and conservation programs. An awesome 24 m abseil into the cave option is available for family, youth, corporate or private group charters. Beginners welcome: environmental interpretation, photography advice and challenge-by-choice (adventure grade easy to moderate). Trips are tailored to suit: choose a peaceful nature experience and/or explore the harder side, squeezing and climbing. All caving gear and refreshments are provided. Bookings are essential. 'Mild' or 'Wild' trips are suitable for moderately fit nature/adventure lovers 14 years and older. Please contact the operator if you'd like your under 14 children to be considered for the tour. "Family-friendly" trips suit families with younger kids (great discounts, too). Most caving trips are for small groups of two to eight guests. Please inquire about special group charters. Mole Creek is a one-hour drive (74 kilometres) from Devonport or Launceston via Deloraine.
