In the little boating village of Franklin, The Bowmont takes pride of place on the banks of the Huon River. Built as a bank in 1906, The Bowmont has since endured a chequered past that includes a hospital, an abandoned derelict eyesore and an antique store. Today it's been reimagined as a creative event space and accommodation that cherishes and preserves that colourful history. A romantic two-bedroom apartment, ideal for discerning couples travelling together or those seeking a spacious getaway for two. With views of the Huon River from every window, guests have exclusive use of the first-floor apartment. Once the private bank manager residence, now a relaxed and elegant retreat, there are two large bedrooms with water views featuring queen beds, quality French and Belgian linens, a glorious bathroom with a walk-in shower, huge tub and underfloor heating. There's an eat-in kitchenette and a cosy sitting room with a custom-made window seat overlooking the Huon River. At the heart of what we do, we want our guests to feel warm, welcomed, and maybe a little transported, like visiting a gracious old country home with hospitable friends.
