Tarraleah Golf Course
The Tarraleah Golf Course is a nine-hole course in the Tasmanian highlands. The course is located at Tarraleah, a holiday village on the edge of the Tasmanian wilderness, a two-hour drive north-west of Hobart (122 kilometres). The Tarraleah Golf Course is Australia's highest, offering nine holes of mature fairways, first planted in the 1940s. Grazing wallabies keep the well watered greens trim and the drives are framed by mature eucalypt forest. Clubs and green fees are available from Adventure Tarraleah at the nearby Tarraleah Estate. Between rounds, you can take one of Tasmania's great short walks on the Estate - through temperate rainforest tree walk to a waterfall and suspended viewing platform. The estate provides a wide range of accommodation choices including charming, art deco cottage or luxury lodge bed and breakfast accommodation. Holes: 9, Par 69, Length: 5,395 metres.
