Shack in the Dunes is located in the quiet coastal village of Weymouth, a raw and unspoiled corner of Tasmania. Bursting with character and charm Shack in the Dunes is the perfect escape from the busy pace of everyday life. A unique stay filled with collected treasures, bespoke finds and locally sourced Tasmanian products. Conveniently situated along the iconic Tamar Valley Wine region renowned for some of the best Tasmanian wineries and vineyards. Shack in the Dunes can accommodate up to four guests and provides a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, and two queen bedrooms adorned with flax linen bedding. Cosy up inside by the wood fire with a book or enjoy the multiple sitting areas outside with a large wrap-around deck and undercover areas to relax in. With two outdoor fire pots, you can choose where you watch the sun go down. Enjoy the unique experience of having your very own private sand dune sitting right in the backyard with lots of natural walking tracks to explore through the dunes. Weymouth is a quiet little township; where it's not uncommon to indulgently have the beach or river to yourself. The river beach is a safe swimming location meters from the shack and is also a sheltered haven ideal for kayaks and paddle boards.

Weymouth Town Hall Tennis Shelter Mural

Weymouth

Birds and fish in a seaside landscape feature in this colourful mural on the Weymouth Town Hall tennis shelter. The artwork is by Northern Tasmanian artist Thomas Chandler / Japhy. Thomas is a full time practising artist, named as a finalist in the 2020 Lester Prize. The mural was commissioned by the Weymouth Progress Association.

Competition days are Wednesday tee-off at 9.30 am and Saturday tee-off at 9.00 am visitors are welcome. Our caterers WE Fine Catering, are open on Friday nights from 5.30 pm and Saturdays from Noon for a light luncheon. Bookings are essential. Private functions are well catered for.

An artisan whisky distillery, producing Tasmanian Single Malt whisky varieties in 20-litre French oak casks. Our whisky is unique, partly due to the rainwater, rich in salt and magnesium used throughout the process.
