Wilmot Hills Orchard and Distillery is a micro-distillery with cellar door attached. Opening 6 days a week except for Wednesdays. All spirits are fermented, distilled, and aged onsite. The apple orchard boasts 11 varieties of apples of which are used for making cider. The product range includes Gin, Apple Brandy, Kirsch, Grappa, Absinthe, Elder Flower wine, Blackberry Wine and Lemon Cello. The distillery is located approximately 40 minutes from Devonport and an hour from Cradle Mountain.

Wilmot is known as the Valley of Views for its spectacular panoramas of Tasmania’s northern mountains, behind a foreground featuring Lake Barrington flanked by fertile farmland. But what gets everybody talking is the Novelty Letterbox Trail. About 80 letterboxes stretched over 25 km, from Gentle Annie Hill to Moina, including such bizarre constructions as a bomb, a skeleton on a bicycle, cows, cars, motorcycles, planes and a whisky still are book-ended by a Dalek at the northern entrance of the trail and the Tardis at the southern end.
