The Lucky Ewe
Oatlands is home to The Lucky Ewe. Located in a former bank building built in 1907, the Lucky Ewe showcases hand-dyed Tasmanian and Australian yarn, fibre and fleece. Each small batch of hand-dyed yarn is processed within metres of The Lucky Ewe. Fleece is sourced directly from ethical Tasmanian growers, and each fleece is hand selected, processed and inspected prior to being offered for sale. Dedicated to keeping the handcraft of spinning, weaving, dyeing, knitting, and crochet alive, The Lucky Ewe is dedicated to sourcing high-quality products and tools for every skill level. The Lucky Ewe is committed to sharing knowledge by hosting weekly craft sessions as well promoting creativity and sustainable craft. Workshops and individual instruction in spinning and knitting are offered. The Lucky Ewe showcases work by Tasmanian and Australian woodworkers and fibre artists. There is plenty of on-street parking, and The Lucky Ewe is easily accessible from the Midlands Highway.
