The Orford Golf Club is located in the township of Orford on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The Club boasts a picturesque 9-hole course, with gently undulating fairways and well-groomed greens. There are scenic views of Maria Island and the Mercury Passage from many fairways. It features a modern clubhouse with a bar. Regular competitions are held on Thursdays (Ladies) and Saturdays. A 9 hole Chicken Run competition is held every Friday. Visitors with a current GA handicap are welcome to enter competitions on payment of green fees, contact the club to arrange a tee time.

Beginning immediately after crossing the bridge at Orford, the Old Convict Road trail follows the northern side of the Prosser River for 1km. This flat and easily accessible trail highlights rugged examples of Convict manual labour and structural ingenuity. Build between 1841 and 1855, this stretch of terraced road was used to service the Probation Station in Buckland now in ruins at the end of the track. Taking no longer than ond hour to complete, this walk is a worthy addition to other local day walks such as the Three Thumbs Track.

Scorchers is not far from the unique National Parks of Maria Island and Freycinet and is a good place to either start or end your day.
