Explore the dark side inside the country's only 19th-century military prison at Hobart's Anglesea Military site located in Australia's oldest military barracks still in use and is one of Australia's most significant historical military precincts.
The Gaol was established to accommodate wayward soldiers and was built in 1847. This imposing building contains 14 individual cells and the gaolers' quarters.
