The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, located 90 minutes' drive from Hobart is Australia’s most intact and evocative convict site. There is a lot to see and do with more than 30 historic buildings and ruins to explore over 100 acres so you’ll want to allow a minimum of three to four hours. Your site entry ticket is valid for two consecutive days and includes a self-guided audio experience, complimentary guide talks at key locations throughout the day, a harbour cruise, access to the Port Arthur Gallery, house museums, and the gardens. Additional tours include the Essentials tour, the Premium tour, the Isle of the Dead Cemetery Tour, or hear of the many escape attempts with the Escape from Port Arthur tour. Visitors can cover the highlights of the history over fairly even ground in the essentials tour or experience a more comprehensive experience with the Premium tour. Everyone is welcome to dine in the Port Arthur café, open daily from 9 am - 5 pm in the Port Arthur Visitor Centre. Port Arthur Historic Site is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm (closed Christmas Day).

On tour, you will journey through the rugged southeast coast of Tasmania on this fully supported and professionally guided four-day trek. Discovering parts of the pristine and wild Tasman National Park, you’ll encounter a new and different adventure each day.

This is a 6-day Overland Track adventure; you’ll carry a large pack and learn to adapt in the wilderness. With this adventure departing in the main walking season from October to May, conditions are generally good for camping and walking. The roughly 65km Overland Track starts at Cradle Mountain in Tasmania’s central northwest and finishes at the northern shores of Lake St Clair. As you head south, you will pass through an array of unique Central Highland landscapes, such as moss-lined Jurassic-looking forests, low alpine moorlands, eucalyptus woodlands and scenic mountain plateaus and passes. Along the way, there are also side trips where you will visit pristine lakes, beautiful waterfalls and historic landmarks, and weather permitting, climb Mt Ossa, the highest mountain in Tasmania. It’s hard not to see why this iconic track draws walkers from all over the world to experience the beauty of this Wilderness World Heritage Area.
