Occasionally you get driven to incredibly inspiring vistas and farmlands where you can snap more painting content than you could paint in one lifetime. That is what your retreat will look like. We call this ‘Colley Country’ because it features all of Colley's favourite subjects….Amongst the rolling green hills sits a single streetscape untouched by commerce or tourism. Beyond the hills, lies an epic landscape in every direction. Green rolling hills, stunningly clear rivers in deep valleys and access to remote painting locations unseen by most visitors. With a maximum of 10 students and paired with one of Australia's most renowned landscape oil painters Colley Whisson - join us for an experience like no other.

Calling all nature lovers to learn how to paint highly realistic natural history watercolour with internationally renowned Australian artist Heidi Willis. Deep in the hills of remote North East Tasmania lies a tiny farming community with a 100 year old hotel that is now Artable's Australian retreat base - Enclave. Nature is well and truly begging to be captured in paint here and you will be combining field trips in nature for inspiration with studio work. Unique lichens and moss grow next to crystal clear streams amidst giant eucalypts and tiny wildflowers known only to this region. Giant eagles soar in the skies whilst little finches dart around the forest floor. This part of Tasmania will speak to every artist on every level. The Enclave accommodations have been lovingly restored and curated by award winning Artable founder Gillian who has brought together a decade of retreat experience to offer you a non-sharing room at no extra charge, a huge light filled art studio, a comfortable group lounge complete with Chesterfields and fireplace and daily excursions to visit carefully selected locations to capture the very best natural history paintings. Paired with one of Australia's most renowned watercolour and natural history artists Heidi Willis, this retreat is not to be missed - join us for a week long experience like no other.

About the Winnaleah Arts Fest 2025 The Winnaleah Arts Fest is a group art event delivered by Artable held over 5 days in January 2025. Join a 5 day art workshop in Acrylics, Clay, Printmaking, Watercolour, Pastel & more. You can be a complete beginner keen to get creative or an experienced artist ready to extend your skills! The event aims to bring 100 artists to the region and to establish an annual art event in the township of Winnaleah in Tasmania’s remote North-East where Artable has built it's new home of Art retreats Enclave. The event is held at the Winnaleah School along with use of the Winnaleah Memorial Hall and Recreation Grounds. At night we gather for dinners and events held at the nearby Winnaleah Memorial Hall. Artist demos, talks, a group paint around and more will be on each evening. You can even walk down the road and enjoy a beer in Artable owner Gillian's country hotel and meet the locals. Included in your workshop fee is your 5 day workshop, lunches, dinners and morning and afternoon teas as well as all evening events including a farewell dinner (dress up theme) with band.
