Spiky Bridge was built by convicts in the mid 19th century on the east coast of Tasmania located 7.5 kilometres from the town of Swansea. The bridge is made from field stones laid without mortar or cement and the parapet features upright stones, giving the bridge a spiky appearance. On the nearby hill are the remains of the governor's cottage which overlook the bridge.

The East Coast Harvest Odyssey, known as ECHO Festival, has become known for weaving together immersive sensory experiences around the traditions of harvest, old and new. This boutique festival guides guests on a journey of exploration that encompasses all senses – taste, smell, sight, sound and touch. ECHO Festival is back in 2025 for another year. Hosted in the picturesque wine country on the fringes of the seaside township of Swansea, the 2025 program brings together chefs, winemakers and producers along with artists, musicians, storytellers, scientists, entrepreneurs and thought leaders.

A scenic 1.5 hour drive from Hobart or Launceston, Swansea is close to wineries and magnificent scenery across Great Oyster Bay to the Freycinet peninsula. Swansea is the perfect location as a central spot for visiting the region. The bakery offers a deli-style dine-in menu and cakes and tarts, even our coffee is local. Wood-fired pizzas from the iconic water tank pizza oven are available for lunch and dinner. Enjoy a grazing platter, while the kids enjoy the playground. The bar and grill, open for lunch and dinner, specialises in Tasmanian caught seafood platters, not your deep-fried seafood basket! The steaks are all Tasmanian and cooked to your liking on the char grill and of course all the traditional pub grub favourites. Live music on selected weekends through summer and winter. The bottle shop has a diverse range of beverages both local Tasmanian and mainstream favourites. A wide range of East Coast and Tasmanian wines are showcased on our Tasmanian wine wall. Large car park and coach parking facilities close to the entrance of the building and clean restrooms.
