Assemblage Boutique Art Bed & Breakfast

Our building is a wonderful 1891 post office. The rear studio was the sorting room, built in 1923.
This delightful room has a fire place and a quaint window with a roof top view of Mt Wellington.
The  lovely light rounded windows highlight the vibrant colour in the original art works.
This spacious luxurious room  with  large light window, can be coupled with the Preston  as a suite.
The  original art works and design enhance the character of the room.
This lovely light room is a favourite. It can be coupled with the Blackman to create a family suite.
The view of Mt Wellington from the Preston Room is stunning, especially when snow covered in Winter.
AssemblageCurated is our onsite art, design and homewares store, located in the rear courtyard.
Assemblage offers workshops in art, design and art therapy.  We offer creative art group retreats.
The Dispatch Cafe is on ground level, run by Ellen Yang. Takeaways are available from Dispatch & Go.
Assemblage is an inspirational accommodation venue that offers a unique lifestyle experience in Tasmania, 4 km from the Hobart CBD. The New Town Post and Telegraph building, built-in 1891, houses Assemblage Boutique Art Bed & Breakfast, Assemblage Curated – Art, Design, Home and Assemblage Workshops. The Dispatch cafe is also onsite. This unique environment, overflowing with hand-made objects and artworks, clever ideas, great food and a passion for creative life set us apart. It is a place to be inspired, where visitors relax and enjoy the delightful indoor and outdoor spaces. The four bedrooms on the upper level are elegant in style while being reminiscent of Parisian artists’ garrets. The property can be accessed from New Town Road at the front, where there is immediate access to public transport, or from Valentine Street at the rear, where there is street parking available. There is accommodation for up to 10 guests in four rooms, with two individual private bathrooms. There is a fully equipped shared kitchen. There is a fridge and tea and coffee facilities in each room. Linen, towels, bathrobes, toiletries and art materials are provided. Look out for upcoming Assemblage workshops in design, art and self-discovery. Workshops can be organised for groups on request. Visitors to Assemblage can request group workshops or retreats in advance.

The Whitely Room

This delightful room has a fireplace and a quaint window with a rooftop view of Mt Wellington. There is one queen size bed with premium linen. The artworks and decorative pieces compliment the charming décor. There is free Broadband and Netflix, TV with DVD player, in-room heating and air conditioning, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee facilities. This room accommodates 2 people. There is room for a cot. The two private bathrooms are shared between the four rooms. Snuggly bathrobes, slippers, a hairdryer and toiletries are provided. We have premium linen, flannelette sheets in winter, electric blankets and additional pillows. A guest information folder, tourist brochures, board games, books, art tools and materials are provided. We even have Assemblage postcards to post on site. There is a fully equipped shared kitchen and an on-site cafe. The beautiful undercover courtyard also houses Assemblage Curated, our art, design and homewares store.

This eclectic room has a vintage charm with contemporary pops of vibrant colour, highlighted in the original art works. The lovely light rounded windows look out at the New Town street scape. There is a cosy double bed with premium linen, flannelette sheets in winter, electric blankets and additional pillows. Accommodation is for two people. The two private bathrooms are shared between the four rooms. Snuggly bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and toiletries are provided. A guest information folder, tourist brochures, board games, books, art tools and materials are provided. We even have Assemblage post cards to post on site. This spacious luxurious room with fireplace, large light window and chandeliers is full of character. The strong vibrant art works and furnishings add a sense of eclectic style. There is a queen bed and a single bed for an additional guest or child. The Blackman and Preston rooms can be closed off from the other rooms offering a perfect arrangement for a family. The two private bathrooms are shared between the four rooms. Snuggly bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and toiletries are provided. A guest information folder, tourist brochures, board games, books, art tools and materials are provided. We even have Assemblage post cards to post on site. This soft tranquil light filled room has a wonderful view of Mt Wellington. In Summer there is a vibrant blue sky and in Winter a perfect view of the snow capped peak. There is a queen bed and a single bed for an additional guest or child. The Preston and Blackman rooms can be closed off from the other rooms offering a perfect arrangement for a family. The two private bathrooms are shared between the four rooms. Snuggly bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and toiletries are provided. We have premium linen, flannelette sheets in winter, electric blankets and additional pillows. A guest information folder, tourist brochures, board games, books, art tools and materials are provided.
