A Chef, A sommelier and a long table lunch in a private villa
This popular long-table lunch, in its third year, has become a signature event in the “Permission to Trespass” series of events around Table Cape and Wynyard in NW Tasmania during Tasmania's “Off Season”. The owners invite you to share a delicious, 6-course degustation meal with paired wines in the dining room of Table House, a unique private villa sitting majestically on Table Cape with sweeping views over beautiful farmlands to Bass Strait. Joseph Bugg, arguably the most popular chef in NW Tasmania until he changed careers a few years ago, was enticed back into the kitchen for the inaugural event at Table House in 2023. It was such a resounding success, with lively conviviality and conversation among strangers, that he’s agreed it should be an annual fixture in his calendar. Local identity and very engaging, internationally qualified sommelier, Devon Cruickshank, again will pair a fabulous selection of fine Tasmanian wines to complement Joseph’s fine food. Having worked in vineyards overseas and in Tasmania, Devon has a profound knowledge of wines and how they are made. Come and enjoy a long, lazy Sunday afternoon. Whether there be sparkling seas or wild winter storms, the views from this dining room never disappoint. But get in early. There’s sure to be a bunch of devoted returnees keen to savour Joseph’s epicurean delights once again. Maximum 24 guests.
