Stop a while and get a taste of the beaches, parks and produce of Burnie.

Stroll the Emu Bay beachfront and visit the Little Penguin Observation Centre. Make your way to Burnie Park, the location of the city’s oldest colonial building, the Burnie Inn. Also discover the cenotaph, dedicated rose and rhododendron gardens, rolling green lawns and a playground.

Refuel at Bayviews Restaurant, overlooking West Beach, or drop into one of the cafes and taste local produce. Whisky lovers head to Hellyers Road Distillery to sample at its cellar door.

Take an easy road trip into the surrounding countryside to see waterfalls and a patchwork landscape of farms dotted with boutique producers and coastal surprises.
