Arthur River is located on the northern boundary of the takayna / Tarkine wilderness, which spans Tasmania’s largest tract of rare cool-temperate rainforest. This quiet village attracts bushwalkers, nature lovers and keen anglers.
It’s also an access point for the Western Explorer, an unsealed 2WD road that traverses the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area to connect with the former mining town of Corinna, 112km away.
